Visual artist George Heidweiller was born in Beverwijk and studied from 1980 to 1984 at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Despite his classical training, Heidweiller explores the possibility of combining diverse techniques. In addition, the artist mixes visual fragments of various cultures in his works.

The collage technique used by Heidweiller fits in seamlessly with the current art image in which old and new elements are integrated within one concept. Self-made screen prints often appear directly on the canvas, in which the artist fuses various visual elements into one whole. The image is often enhanced with collages that consist of mixed techniques on supports such as paper, cardboard, linen or wood.

Asian street culture, South American use of color, Western violence, consumption and the smoothing of the dividing line between art and life are recurring inspirations of George Heidweiller.
